PORTLAND, Ore. --- Western Oregon's
Keeton Sanchez and
Mark Warren led the Wolves to a sweep of the GNAC men's track and field weekly awards this week after strong performances at the Spokane Invitational.
Sanchez earned the GNAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week after he won the 800 with a time of 1:52.17 - the No. 10 in WOU history and an NCAA D-II qualifying mark (the eighth-fastest time in D-II two weeks into the season).
Warren was named the GNAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week after winning the weight throw with a distance of 59 feet, 7 inches - a personal record that moved him to third on the WOU all-time list and to No. 8 on the GNAC all-time list.
The Wolves are off until competing at hte UW Indoor Preview starting Jan. 17 in Seattle.
