It was a busy weekend for the Western Oregon track and field team as the Wolves participated in three meets throughout the Northwest – seeing one school record broke, top-10 all-time WOU marks improved and numerous PRs.
Highlighting the weekend was senior
Ujunwa Nwokoma as she broke her own school record in the indoor long jump with a mark of 19 feet, 0.75 inches - 0.75 inches longer than her previous record at the Geroge Fox Indoor Meet #1 on Saturday in Newberg. It's an NCAA provisional mark for the Clackamas, Oregon, native and ranks No. 26 in Division II this season.
A pair of WOU throwers improved their school top-10 marks Friday at the Riverfront Invitational & Multis in Spokane, Washington, as
Mark Warren hit a PR in the weight throw with a distance of 57-6 (17.53 meters) - increasing his No. 7 mark all-time at WOU (No. 6 is 57-7.75).
In the women's weight throw,
Liliana Lyness-Morales PR'd and improved her WOU top-10 mark in the event at 50-5.25 (15.37 meters) - the No. 8 mark in school history.
Entering the all-time top 10 in WOU history
Josie Lavato who finished the 60 meters in a time of 8.04 seconds at the Portland Indoor #2 on Sunday - tied for ninth on the all-time WOU list. Teammate
Maliyah Thompson won the event at George Fox with a season-best 7.70 (her all-time best is 7.61, second in WOU history).
Thompson also hit a season best in the 60 hurdles at 8.90 seconds.

The Wolves return to action this week as they travel to compete at the Husky Classic on Friday and Saturday in Seattle along with the David Hemery Valentine Meet on Friday and Saturday in Boston.
