SAN FRANCISCO --- The Western Oregon baseball team dropped its season opener to Westmont College 15-3 Friday morning at Maloney Field.

The Wolves (0-1) fell behind 8-0 to the Warriors (2-2-1) - a hole too big to dig out of Friday (five of those runs unearned). 

Four WOU players had two hits with Owen Bischoff going 2-for-4 with.a double and two RBI, Collin Irwin and Zach Valdez each going 2-for-4 with a run with Valdez adding a double and John Oleson went 2-for-5 with a double.

Dylan Chalmers picked up the loss, going 4.2 innings and giving up eight runs (three earned) and nine hits wit hthree strikeouts, three walks and two hit batters.

WOU looks to bounce back 10 a.m. Saturday as it again plays Westmont before taking on host San Francisco State at 2 p.m.
