SAN FRANCISCO --- The Western Oregon baseball team dropped a 4-1 game to Westmont Saturday morning before falling 5-2 to San Francisco State Saturday afternoon at Maloney Field.

In the first game, the Wolves (0-3) fell behind 3-0 in the third inning before getting one back in the seventh on an Emiliano Alarcon RBI double to left center. 

But that was just one of two hits for the Wolves (Zach Valdez had the other). Owen Murdock took the loss, going five innings and giving up three runs on four hits with 11 strikeouts and three walks. Ayden Holker gave up a run on two hits over the final three innings.

The Wolves second game of the day was tight until the seventh inning when a three-run frame for San Francisco State (3-2) pushed its lead to 5-0. The Wolves scored a run in the eighth on a Tyler Mohler sacrifice fly to score Randy Stultz and another in the ninth on a John Oleson homer.

Valdez was the only Wolf with multiple hits, going 2-for-3.

Alvaro Alvarez picked up the loss, going 4.1 innings and giving up a run on three hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

WOU completes play in the Bay Area noon Sunday with a game against SFSU.
