Whether in Corvallis or Newberg, personal records and event wins happened for the Western Oregon track and field team on a sunny Saturday.
In Corvallis at the OSU PNW Invite,
Gabe Burchfield won the 110 hurdles with a PR of 15.19 seconds with teammate
JJ Walker not far behind with a PR of 15.66 (took third). Also for the men,
Brennen Murphy set a PR of 48.24 in the 400 to take first at the event and a tie for sixth on the WOU men's all-time list.
Madeline Lambing set a PR in the 400 hurdles at 1:03.10 to take fifth while
Jessy Hart PR'd in the 200 at 25.9 to take sixth overall (she won her heat).
In Newberg, the women's team say Krystal Andrews with the discus (37.83 meters / 124 feet, 1 inch) while
Liliana Lyness-Morales won the hammer throw at 44.22 meters (145-01).
Emillia Carpenter took second at 44.14 meters (144-09).Â
On the men's side,
Mark Warren set a PR in the hammer with a distance of 54.93 meters (180-02).
The Wolves return to action Friday and Saturday at the Oregon Preview in Eugene and at the Willamette Invite in Salem on Saturday. WOU also competes at the Pac U Multi in Forest Grove March 24-25 (next Sunday and Monday).
