EMPORIA, Kan. --- The Western Oregon track and field team's Kaylee Wright closed out her career with a 16th-place finish in the javelin while freshman Isaiah Rodriguez took 18th in the 800 at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Francis G. Welch Stadium this past weekend.

Rodriguez saw the first action, competing Friday as he finished 18th with a time of 1 minute, 53.18 seconds in his heat. While he didn't qualify for Saturday's final, he was one of only three freshmen in the 800 field. Senior Wes Ferguson of Nebraska-Kearney won the title in Saturday's final with a time of 1:47.84 - a facility record.

Wright competed Saturday and finished 16th with a mark of 143 feet, 10 inches (43.58 meters) in her third and final throw throw - but came up short of making the finals. Olivia Vanderweide of Pittsburg State won the title with a distance of 170-4 (51.93 meters).
