WOU frosh Rodriguez's blazing GNAC top 10 all-time 800 highlights Wolves' weekend

Western Oregon freshman Isaiah Rodriguez's blazing school and conference top-10 all-time 800 performance in the pouring rain at the Oregon Twilight on Friday night highlighted the weekend for the Wolves.

Rodriguez in wet conditions ran the 800 at famous Hayward Field in Eugene in 1 minute, 49.66 seconds - the third-best time in WOU history, the eighth-fastest time in GNAC history and, as of Sunday, the 10th-fastest time in NCAA D-II this season (and one of two freshmen in the top 20).

WOU's Jessy Hart set a personal best in the 200 Friday in Eugene with a time of 25.80 - 0.45 seconds off a WOU top-10 all-time mark. A day later at the Linfield Open, she ran a 25.88.

Bethanie Altamirano set a personal best in the 400 on Friday at 58.54 - less than a second off a top-10 WOU all-time mark in the event.

Mark Warren in the poor conditions took second in the hammer at the Oregon Twilight (57.08 meters, 187-03) and first at the Linfield Open (54.51, 178-10).

Marley Harrison at the Linfield Open set a PR in the long jump at 6.66 meters (21-10.25) while Emillia Carpenter set a PR in the hammer throw at 47.51 meters (155-10).

This was the WOU's final action before the GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships set to start Friday in Ellensburg, Washington, on the campus of Central Washington University.
