SEASIDE, Calif. --- The Western Oregon men's basketball team outscored Menlo College 33-17 in the second half to pull away for the 76-57 victory Saturday afternoon at the Otter Sports Center to pick up the Wolves' first win under new head coach
Ryan Orton.
WOU (1-1) held MC (0-2) to 27.8 percent shooting from the field in the second half to turn a 43-40 advantage into a 19-point victory.
Jadin Penigar - who was named to the all-tournament team - led WOU with 24 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists.
Noah Ogoli had 13 points, a team-high six assists and four rebounds (he was also 3-for-3 from 3-point range),
Carson Frincke had 12 points and
Peter-Kaci Gwananji was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field for 12 points to go along with eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.
The Wolves are set to play their home opener 6:15 p.m. Friday against Westminster.
