MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon women's soccer team for the first time in school history was selected to the NCAA Tournament as the Wolves picked up the No. 6 seed in the West Region and will take on a familiar foe in No. 3 Simon Fraser noon Friday in Pomona, California.
The winner will take on the winner of No. 2 seed and host Cal Poly Pomona and No. 7 seed Humboldt 3 p.m. Sunday.
It will be the fourth meeting between WOU (11-4-5) and SFU (13-2-5) this season alone with the Wolves going 1-2 against the Red Leafs - who won their third-consecutive GNAC Championships title to earn the automatic berth into the tournament.
