The Western Oregon men's distance medley relay team secured a spot into the NCAA D-II Championships with the second-best time in school history Sunday in Boston while the Wolves' outdoor season kicked off in Linfield Friday and Saturday with school top-10 marks reached in several events.
At the 2025 Last Chance Indoor National Qualifier hosted by Boston University, the DMR team of
Isaiah Rodriguez,
Brennen Murphy,
Grant Bohannon and
Keeton Sanchez blazed their way to a time of 9:40.72 – the second-best time in school history (just 0.57 seconds behind the 2017 school record).
More importantly, the time is the No. 7 time in NCAA Division II this season – good enough for them to qualify for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships March 14-15 in Indianapolis.
At the Linfield Erik Anderson Memorial Icebreaker Invitational,
Logan Parker ran the 10,000 in 31 minutes, 17.54 seconds – good for fourth on the WOU all-time list.
Jordan Kemper entered the WOU all-time top-10 in the event as well, moving to seventh with a time of 31:28.63.
In the discus,
Ray Gerrard won the event in Linfield with the best throw in 14 years by a Wolf – moving to No. 6 on the WOU all-time list with a distance of 164-01 (50.01 meters). WOU also picked up an event win in the hammer with
Justin Parnell's distance of 170-00 (51.82 meters) – a personal record.
On the women's side,
Ali Clifton ran a PR and moved from No. 10 to No. 9 on the WOU all-time list in the 10,000 with a time of 38:56.85.
WOU also picked up an event win in the shot put with
Grace Lam Tiang winning the event with a mark of 39-0.25 (11.95 meters).
This week the Wolves head to the CWU Wildcat Opener in Ellensburg, Washington, Friday and Saturday while also competing in the Rich Allen Classic in Newberg on Saturday.
