The Western Oregon track and field team competed at the Willamette Open in Salem and the Pacific Open in Forest Grove on Saturday.
Willamette Open (Salem, Oregon)
Nerissa Thompson blazed her way to the No. 3 spot in the WOU all-time top 10 in the 100 with a time of 12.03 – a new PR (she was previously at No. 9 at 12.22 seconds).
Jazmine Dotson finished second in the event with a time at 12.33.
Thompson wasn't done as she won the 200 in a time of 25.19 – the fourth-fastest time in WOU history and the fastest time in the event for a WOU athlete since Madison McClung ran a 24.71 in 2013 (the No. 2 time in WOU history).
Ray Gerrard improved his No. 6 distance in WOU history in the discus with a new PR of 50.17 meters (164-07) to take first.
Jack Burgett just missed the WOU all-time top 10 in the 100 meters with a time of 10.76 seconds (.02 off making the list) while winning the event.
Mark Warren won the hammer with a distance of 50.32 meters (165-01) while
Jacob Behrman won the shot put with a PR of 15.02 meters (49-3.50).
Grace Lam Tiang won the javelin with a distance of 37.93 meters (124-05) and the shot put with a mark of 12.79 meters (41-11.50).
Owen Frazier set a PR in the men's 400 with a time of 49.09 to take second.

Pacific Open (Forest Grove, Oregon)
Landon Theisen took first in the men's 800 with a PR of 1:52.83
Tate Herber ran a PR in the men's 110 hurdles  at 15.04 seconds to take second. Herber also won the high jump with a height of 1.86 meters (6-1.25)
Charlotte Gardner (11:55.57) and
Lindie Larson (11:58.16) finished second in the third in the 3,000 steeple.
Kylie Griffin won the high jump with a height of 1.58 meters (5-2.25).
