MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships officially announced this year's field and Western Oregon will be represented by
Mark Warren in the weight throw,
Isaiah Rodriguez in the 800 and the distance medley relay team of Rodriguez,
Brennen Murphy,
Grant Bohannon and
Keeton Sanchez.
The NCAA Indoor Championships are set for March 13-15 at the Fall Creek Pavilion at Indianapolis' Indiana State Fairgrounds. The top 18 in each event qualified for this year's nationals.
Warrren set the school and GNAC record this season in the weight throw with a mark of 63 feet, 8.75 inches (19.42 meters) at the GNAC Indoor Championships (winning the conference title) - good for 16th in D-II this season. He will compete on March 14 starting at 12:30 p.m. (PT).
Rodriguez comes in at No. 17 in the 800 with a time of 1:50.15 at the GNAC Indoor Championships - taking second in the event and the fourth-best time in WOU history. The prelim will be March 14 at 11:55 a.m. If Rodriguez make into the top nine, the final will be 1:10 p.m. March 15.
The Wolves' DMR team qualified just this past Sunday in Boston with a time of 9:40.72 - the second-best time in school history and seventh in D-II this season. The team will compete 3 p.m. on March 14.
