WOU's Clemens takes second at GNAC Multi Championships

BELLINGHAM, Wash. --- Western Oregon's Macy Clemens set a personal best while moving up the school's all-time list in the heptathlon thanks to finishing second at the GNAC Combined Event Championships on Tuesday at Civic Stadium.

The senior from Klamath Falls, Oregon, finished with 4,673 points - moving her from fifth to fourth on the WOU all-time list - finishing 95 points behind Central Washington's Emy Ntekpere. While Clemens didn't finish first in an event, she only finished worse than fifth in one event in the 12-person field.

WOU's Amariyah Clay took fourth with 4,395 points, Amity Deters took fifth with 4,199 points and Olivia Boyd finished 12th with 3,522 points.

On the men's side, Caleb Ness took fourth with 5,852 points - just nine points shy of finishing on the podium. Ness did finish first in the high jump in the 11-man field at 6 feet, 0.5 inches (1.85 meters).

WOU continues action this weekend at the Oregon State High Performance Friday and Saturday and at the Linfield Open on Saturday. The Wolves start action at the GNAC Championships May 9.
