SAN FRANCISCO --- The Western Oregon fell to Fresno Pacific 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 25-18) before bouncing back to beat Menlo College 3-1 (26-24, 20-25, 25-16, 25-16) on Friday at the Gator Classic.

In the win over Menlo (1-4), the Wolves (1-6) got 19 kills and 10 digs from Maela Honma, Chloe Asciutto had 11 kills, four aces and a block and Taya Blankenship had 10 kills. Samantha Darby led the team with 43 assists while Kealani Rosa had a team-best 15 digs.

In the loss to Fresno Pacific, Honma had a team-best 13 kills and 15 digs, Asciutto had 10 kills and two blocks and Darby had 32 assists.

WOU closes out action at the Gator Classic 3:30 p.m. Saturday against Cal State East Bay.
