ANCHORAGE, Alaska --- The Western Oregon volleyball team fell to Alaska Anchorage 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19) on Thursday at the Alaska Airlines Center.
After dropping the first two sets, the Wolves (1-9 overall, 0-2 GNAC) bounced back against the Seawolves (12-1, 3-0) in the third set. Down 14-13, an
Ali Millspaugh kill ignited a 5-0 run capped by UAA attack error to make it 18-14.
The Seawolves cut the lead to 24-22, but a
Maela Honma kill gave the Wolves the set to make it 2-1.
However, UAA closed out the match with a 25-19 win in set four.
Honma paced the Wolves with 17 kills, 14 digs and three aces.
Taya Blankenship added nine kills.
Samantha Darby had a team-high 19 assists while
Kealani Rosa added 17.
The Wolves take on Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday.
