RICHARDSON, Tex.--Western Oregon senior defensive lineman
Jayden Brannan has been named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week, announced today (Monday) by the league office.
Brannan had six tackles for a loss of 43 yards, a sack and forced fumble to lead the Wolves to a 56-28 road win over Western New Mexico. Brannan's six TFLs are the most in a single game in all of NCAA Division II this season and most in the LSC since UT Permian Basin's Tristan Exline made the same amount last year.
The Portland State transfer made seven total tackles and six were solo. He had at least one tackle in all four quarters. His performance helped the Wolves extend their winning streak to three games to improve to 5-4 on the season. The 6-foot-2, 220 pounder had his first forced fumble of the season and that was his fifth sack.Â
The Wolves will host West Texas A&M this Saturday at McArthur, start time is 1:05 pm.Â
