Wolves open 2026 outdoor season with 7 WOU top-10 marks, 8 event wins in McMinnville

MCMINNVILLE, Ore. --- The Western Oregon track and field teams opened their 2026 outdoor season Friday and Saturday at the Erik Anderson Memorial Icebreaker Invitational – taking home seven all-time top-10 marks and winning eight events at the meet.
 
In the women's 10,000, Kyla Potratz finished second in 36 minutes, 23.43 seconds – improving her No. 4 time in school history. Adele Beckstead took third at 36:49.50 – good for fifth on the WOU all-time list – while Charlotte Gardner took sixth with a time of 37:50.71, ninth on the Wolves' all-time list.
 
In the men's 10,000, Matthew Resnik (30:56.89) and Ethan Bothwell (31:05.38) reached the WOU top 10 – fifth and sixth, respectively.
 
Jacob Behrman won the shot put while moving into the Wolves' all-time top 10 in the event with a distance of 53 feet, 0.25 inches (16.16 meters) – good for seventh on the WOU list.
 
Easton Pomrankey cracked the WOU top 10 in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 9:11.37 – good for 7th on the WOU all-time list.
