ELLENSBURG, Wash. --- The Western Oregon track and field program took home two conference titles and was on the podium for two others during the first day of the GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Monday.

Jacob Behrman stood atop the podium in the shot put after the second-best mark in WOU history and sixth-best in conference history with a distance of 57 feet, 2.25 inches (17.43 meters). The mark only trails Doyle Kenady's mark of 57-10.5 in 1972 on the WOU all-time list.

Tate Herber took home the conference title in the high jump with a height of 6- 8.75 (2.05 meters) – tied for the seventh-best mark in WOU history and the highest mark since 2002 for a Wolves athlete.

Ray Gerrard made the podium in the discus, taking second with a distance of 167-2 (50.96 meters).

Alecia Lemeza stood on the podium for WOU in the pole vault, taking third with a height of 11-3 (3.43 meters) – tying her PR and the No. 2 height in WOU history.
After the first day, the WOU men have 37 points - sitting in fifth place. Western Washington leads followed by Central Washington.
On the women's side, WOU sits in fifth place -Â a half point back of Northwest Nazarene for fourth. Western Washington leads with 76.5 points while Central WAshington is in second at 67 points.

PRELIMS
Men
Jack Burgett ran the second-fastest 100 in WOU history with a time of 10.43 to qualify for Tuesday's final (he finished fourth in the prelims). That time only trails Bobby Pope's time of 10.34 set in 1990.

Herber improved his PR and No. 2 time in WOU history in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.45 to qualify for the finals along with
Jackson McQuain – whose 14.64 improved his PR and No. 6 time in WOU history.

Easton Pomrankey ran the top prelim time in the 800 Monday at 1:52.85.

Three athletes on the men's side qualified for the 400 final in
Brennen Murphy (48.26),
Owen Frazier (48.77) and
Teo Le (49.45). Murphy also qualified in the 200 with a time of 21.32.

Khen San qualified for the 400 hurdles final with a time of 55.96.

Women
Jazmine Dotson ran a sub-12 100 at 11.95 to qualify for Tuesday's final (just .03 off her No. 2 time in WOU history).

Makenna Vierck ran a PR and the No. 10 time in WOU history in the 100 hurdles at 14.71 to qualify for Tuesday's final (she was sixth in the prelim). In the 400 hurdles,
Alexa McGowan qualified as well at 1:06.04.

Aliyah Taba qualified in the 400 with a PR of 56.66 – improving her No. 5 time in WOU history.
