MONMOUTH, Ore. - Coach Ferguson was torn between Valdez and McCrea on day seven of the 2010 Western Oregon Fall Camp for their enthusiasm today. The running backs sped away with Group of the Day honors.

"Both players are eager for competition," coach Ferguson said. "(They) are both going to do special things athletically."

Valdez is from Portland, Ore. (Central Catholic High), while senior McCrea is coming out of Keizer, Ore. (McNary High). Both are suiting up as running backs for the Wolves this coming season.

The running backs were the stars of the day as they were given the tribute of Group of the Day, as they were recognized for their performance in the morning practice.

"There is a lot of talent (in that group), which is extremely important to our offense." coach Ferguson started to explain. "We really feel good about the depth of the position and we thought it was going to be a weakness coming into camp, but it has turned into a strength.”

Last season, the running backs came up with an average of 94.1 yards a game and seven touchdowns.
