MONMOUTH, Ore. - After the defense stood out during the first two scrimmages, it was the offense's turn to be in control during Western Oregon University football third and final scrimmage of Fall Camp.

The Wolves' offense focused on its redzone efficiency in the contest. It converted on eight of its 10 possessions from inside the 20 yardline. Senior quarterback AJ Robinson converted three scoring drives for the offense, including a 50-yard, two-play drive. WOU also had Cory Bean and Evan Mozzochi punch in a pair of scoring drives apiece.

"Our first two scrimmages our offense hadn't executed like we want them to, but today we saw them be very affective in the redzone running and throwing the football," head coach Arne Ferguson said.

The offensive highlight of the scrimmage came when Bean dumped a screen pass to freshman running back Kirk Werhane, who scampered 20 yards, weaving through defender, and dove into the endzone for the score.

The defensive highlight was provided by cornerback Taylor Goodling. He stepped right in front of the receiver making his break on the outside to pick off the pass then rushed 92 yards the other way, with defensive comrades following closely behind, for the score.

WOU also practiced all special teams formations in a live setting. Kicker Kelly Morgan converted on a 42-yard field goal and punter Scott Buche boomed multiple punts down the field.

The Wolves will now get into the repetition of a game week starting Sunday in preparation for their season-opener on Saturday, Sept. 4 at Simon Fraser.
