FOREST GROVE, Ore. –
Jason Slowey won both the discus and shot put to highlight six victories by Western Oregon student-athletes, Saturday (Mar. 12), at the Pacific Preview.
Slowey threw the shot put a season-best 50-11 (15.52m) to win the event. He then registered a toss of 150-8 (45.92m) to capture the title in the discus.
The Everetts sisters grabbed a couple of wins in the mid-distance races.
Megan Everetts won the 800m win a season-best time of 2:18.32, and then
Janelle Everetts finished first in the 1500m with a time of 4:48.77.
Justin Karr took home the title in the men's 5000m run by completing the race in 15:22.0.
Michael Shogren was the champion in the 1500m with a time of 4:05.91.
Brandon Snook took third in the same event with a time of 4:06.94.
Anthony Yakovich gave the Wolves a win in the sprints as he won the 200m with a time of 22.63.
Western Oregon individuals also lead both multi-events after day one.
Ali Mosher has 2,356 points with three events remaining and
Jake Hyde has 3,298 points with five events left.
The Wolves' next meet will be Mar. 19 at the Oregon Preview in Eugene.
