MONMOUTH, Ore. -
Jason Slowey impressed NFL scouts during his Pro Day which was held on the Western Oregon University campus last Friday (Mar. 16). Here are some comments on the workout from Sports Illustrated's draft analyst Tony Pauline:
"Little-known offensive lineman
Jason Slowey turned heads during the Western Oregon pro-day. A college left tackle who projects to guard in the NFL, he measured 6' 2.5" and 304 pounds. His marks included 38 reps on the bench press, 9-2 in the broad jump and a short shuttle time of 4.64. Slowey also ran a solid 40, timing 4.96. Ten teams were on hand to watch the sleeper workout today."
Slowey, along with defensive lineman Sitani Tupou, ran through all the drills and exercises laid out by the scouts to be measured on size, strength and speed. NFL teams on hand to watch Slowey and Tupou included the Chicago Bears, the San Francisco 49ers, the Green Bay Packers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Tennessee Titans, the Oakland Raiders, the Indianapolis Colts and others.
