FINAL RESULTSSEATTLE, Wash. – In its final tune-up before the 2015 Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Indoor Championships, Western Oregon University's track & field teams competed at the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington Saturday inside the Dempsey Indoor Center.
A pair of Wolves – senior
Brady Beagley and junior
Sam Naffziger – both hit NCAA Division II provisional times with Naffziger recording a lifetime personal best in his event.
In the 800 meter run, Naffziger recorded a time of 1:53.37 to finish eighth in his heat finishing 0.27 seconds below the provisional time needed to qualify for the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships.
Beagley, who already qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships, lowered his provisional time in the mile with a time of 4:10.60, which is nearly two seconds below the provisional time and within seven seconds of the automatic qualifying time.
In the Distance Medley Relay, Western Oregon's team of freshman Badase Sultessa, sophomore
Aaron Whitaker, junior
Josh Hanna, and Beagley finished third overall with a time of 9:59.24 to finish within three seconds of the winners, Academy of Art University.
Western Oregon will remain in the Emerald City for the UW Indoor Open hosted by the University of Washington tomorrow – Sunday, February 15 – inside the Dempsey Indoor Center.
