Complete UW Invite Meet ResultsSEATTLE - Western Oregon continued to break records and make splashes on the national landscape while finishing competition at the UW Invitational on Saturday at Dempsey Indoor.
"We had a very good weekend," head coach
Mike Johnson said. "We continue to set new records and rewrite our Top 10 lists every meet."
Junior
Nicole Maurmann broke the school record in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:13.24. Her time surpassed the previous record of Randi Taruscio (Lydum) set in 1989 of 10:16.00.
Western Oregon showed well in both the men's and women's 800-meter races. Senior
Badane Sultessa posted the fastest time from a Division II runner with a fifth-place finish of 1:50.23. The time ranks second all-time on the WOU indoor record list and places Sultessa second in the country this year on the D-II level. Three other runners placed in the top-17 in the 800 with senior

In the women's 800, senior
Bailey Beeson ran the sixth-best time in school history with a time of 2:18.17 while teammate sophomore
Suzanne Van De Grift ran a 2:18.27 for the seventh best time in the record books.
For the distance runs, senior
Stephanie Stuckey ran the third best time in school history for the mile with a time of 5:00.58. On the men's side in the 3,000-meter races, junior
David Cornish finished 35
th posting a time of 8:33.50, the second best in WOU history. Senior
Zach Holloway came in a second later with the 3
rd best all-time run at 8:34.57.
During the sprint events, sophomore
Kaleb Dobson ran a time of 8.38 in qualifying, seventh best in WOU history, and posted 8.47 in the following round. Sophomore
Cody Warner placed 10 in the 60-meter dash at 7.06.
Western Oregon takes a short trip next week when they head to Portland to compete at the Pilot Indoor on Thursday, Feb. 4.
