DAY ONE RESULTS | DAY TWO START LISTS
MONMOUTH, Ore. - Â The Western Oregon track and field team opened the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships with one individual victory, another podium appearance and momentum heading into finals on day two Saturday. The WOU women are currently in sixth place with 14 points while the men are in seventh with 16 points.

Freshman jumper
Alani Troutman earned his first conference championship of his collegiate career with a fifth-round effort of 7.08m (23-2 ¾) to earn 10 points toward the team total. Also scoring for Western Oregon on Friday were high jumpers
Kolton Koenig-Rohde in sixth place clearing 1.89m and Connor Reinke taking eighth getting over 1.84m.

Senior
Rachael Huffman had a great day in the field as she took second in the discus competition with her second-best effort of the outdoor season of 42.92m (140-10) and backed it up finishing just off the podium in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 13.16m (43-2 ½). Freshman
Halie Korff earned a point with an eighth place finish in the shot put at 38.67m.

Seven Western Oregon athletes qualified for the finals at 800 meters with four on the men's side and three for the WOU women.
AJ Holmberg led the men's qualifying quartet with the fastest time of the day at 1:53.52 to win the third heat.
David Ribich cruised to a win in heat two posting a time of 1:54.15 while Curt Knott took third in the same heat (1:56.23) to claim a spot in Saturday's final. In the opening semifinal heat,
Michael Chin earned a finals spot finishing second at 1:55.23.

In the women's semifinals at 800 meters,
Megan Rose posted the quickest time for WOU with a 2:10.87 qualifying time in heat two. Heat one saw
Olivia Woods finish second at 2:12.72 and
Suzanne Van De Grift take third (2:14.53).

Cody Warner earned a return trip to the finals of the 200-meter dash with the third fastest time of the day at 21.97 seconds.
Codi Blodgett joins Warner in the 200m final at 22.56 and will run the double in the 100-meter final after posting a 11.10 to finish second in his heat.

The GNAC Championships will begin at 10 a.m. with the women's hammer while finals on the track begin at 12 noon with the women's 4x100-meter relay.
