CHARLOTTE, N.C.-
After a trio of runners successfully passed through to finals on the opening day, Western Oregon University added two more qualifiers on the second day of action at the NCAA DII National Track & Field Championships on Friday.

Olivia Woods will return the national finals in the 800-meter run for the second straight year after posting a school record 2:05.91 while running out of the second of three heats. A third-place finisher at last year's championships to garner All-American honors, Woods entered the meet ranked No. 7 overall nationally this season with a 2:07.76 and ended the day with the fourth fastest preliminary mark.

Teammate Megan Rose missed out on giving the Wolves a second runner in finals by a single position with a career best 2:08.08. Rose placed 9th overall at the national competition to improve on her 13th-place result from a year ago. Alaska Anchorage's Danielle McCormick nabbed the eighth and final spot to Saturday's finals with a 2:07.28.

Rose, however, will join Woods, Grayson Burke and Suzanne Van De Grift in the finals of the 1,600-meter relay as the quarter secured a spot in the final eight with a school record time of 3:41.80. The same four set the previous school record of 3:45.82 two weeks ago at the GNAC Championships. The Wolves were the 14th and final team qualified to nationals in the 1,600-meter relay.
