MONMOUTH, Ore. – For the fifth straight week, the Western Oregon University baseball team is receiving votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) Poll that was released Wednesday. The Wolves remained third in the West Region Poll.

WOU made a climb this week to the top team receiving votes in the NCBWA National Poll collecting 24 points, which would leave the Wolves ranked No. 26 if the top extended past the top-25. Two West Region teams are ranked in the top-25 with Northwest Nazarene 6th and Azusa Pacific 18th.

The Wolves are 16-6 overall and 15-5 in GNAC play this season coming off of a four-game conference sweep at Montana State Billings this past week in which WOU tallied 75 runs.

In the West Regional Poll, WOU still sits third with 48 points, the same point total from last week. Northwest Nazarene continues to lead the poll with all six first-place votes and 60 points. Azusa Pacific is second with 54 points. Hawaii Hilo is still fourth with 36 points. Concordia Irvine holds a slim lead for the fifth spot and 32 points, with Central Washington right behind in sixth with 30 points. Concordia Irvine made a big jump in the poll this week going from eighth to fifth. Academy of Art remained in seventh with 24 points. Fresno Pacific and Holy Names are tied for eighth with 19 points. Fresno Pacific dropped from fifth to eighth this week, while Holy Names made a slight climb to from being tied for 10th last week. Rounding out the top-10 is Biola with eight points, as they slipped one spot from ninth last week.

WOU will play at Saint Martin's in a four-game GNAC series starting with a doubleheader this Thursday at 1 p.m.
