Several Strong Performances For Wolves During Day Two Of UW Invite

SEATTLE, Wash. – The second day of the UW Invite had multiple strong showings for the Western Oregon University men's and women's track and field teams. Hunter Hutton and Maliyah Thompson continued to climb up the record books. Jenelle Hurley made a push for a new personal-best, Keeton Sanchez continued to add to his personal-best. Timothy Rambo posted a season-best on the day and Owen Collins also hit a new season-best in the shot put.

Hutton moved up one spot to fourth on the WOU all-time list in the mile when he crossed with a time of 4:07.47 to come in 25th. Thompson climbed to seventh on the WOU all-time list in the 60-meter when she posted a time of 8.03 in the prelims. Hurley was just off of her personal-best in the long jump hitting a distance of 18-3.25 to come in fourth. Sanchez has improved his time in all three meets this indoor season in the 800 and again he set a new PR posting a time of 1:53.88 to come in 11th. Rambo also competed in the 800 and crossed with a season-best time of 1:55.56 to come in 20th.

In addition to Thompson running in the women's 60-meter, Maya Hopwood also competed for the Wolves and posted a time of 7.89 in prelims to just miss advancing to the finals.

Macy Clemens joined Hurley competing in the women's long jump as Clemens came in 14th reaching a distance of 15-11.75.

Deshaun Stevens competed in the men's long jump coming in 12th with a mark of 21-4.75.

Collins and Sam Cole entered in the men's shot put. Collins collected a top-five finish coming in fifth with a distance of 47-3.75. Sam Cole came in seventh with a mark of 45-3 in his first shot put event of the indoor season.

Moana Gianotti and Liliana Lyness-Morales each competed in the women's shot put. Gianotti posted a seventh-place throw hitting a mark of 42-4. Lyness-Morales was close to her season-best hitting a distance of 35-8.

Kalulusno Ngaida competed in the women's triple jump reaching a distance of 34-9 to come in 11th.

Marlon Harrison entered the men's triple jump and was close to his season-best in the event hitting a mark of 44-2.50 to come in eighth.

WOU will travel to Spokane next week to compete in the Washington State Open and Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
