SEATTLE, Wash. – The Western Oregon University men's and women's track and field teams concluded the Husky Classic on Saturday posting some marks that were season-bests and ones that were near top season numbers.
Hunter Hutton continued to improved on his fourth-best time in the men's mile on the WOU all-time list when he crossed at 4:07.05 to come in 35th.
Arce-Torres collected a top-10 finish in the men's 400 when he came in 50.73 to place eighth. His new time is a season-best.
Marlon Harrison was close to a season-best distance in the men's long jump hitting a mark of 20-1.75 to come in 11th. Harrison also added a top-five finish in the triple jump hitting a distance of 43-3.75 to come in fourth.
Liliana Lyness-Morales wasn't far off of her season-best throw in the women's shot put hitting a mark of 35-5.25 to come in 21st.
Sam Cole was close to his season-best in the men's shot put throwing to a mark of 45-0.50 to come in seventh.
Maya Hopwood and Maliyah Thompson each competed in the women's 60. In the prelims, both almost ran the same time with Hopwood crossing at 7.82 to come in seventh and Thompson coming in with a time of 7.85 to place 10th. Thompson's new time improves her third-fastest time in the WOU record books. Hopwood advanced to the finals, with Thompson just missing. In the finals, Hopwood came in eighth with a time of 7.96.
Keeton Sanchez and Timothy Rambo each entered in the men's 800. Sanchez crossed in 20th with a time of 1:55.48 and Rambo came in 24th with a time of 1:57.47.
WOU will finish the weekend traveling to Portland to compete in the Portland Indoor tomorrow (Sunday) starting at 11 a.m.
