IRVINE, Calif. – After helping the Western Oregon University softball team to a 3-2 weekend at the Concordia Irvine Tournament, both Logan Carlos and Maddie Mayer were named to the All-Tournament Team on Sunday.
Carlos tallied nine hits in the five games, recording a trio of multi-hit games. She also added five RBI, two triples and a walk. Carlos drove in three in the win over Stanislaus State and then added a two RBI game in the win over San Francisco State. Over the final three games, Carlos had at least two hits in each game, with a high of three hits against Stanislaus State. Carlos had a hit in all five games and scored four runs.
Mayer went 2-0 in four appearances that included a six inning start allowing no runs with three strikeouts in a win over Stanislaus State. Mayer then came back the next day to throw two innings to pick up the win over San Francisco State adding four more strikeouts and allowing just a run. Mayer threw a total of 11.2 innings in four games and allowed just one run, while adding nine strikeouts and just five walks.
