PR Marks From Hurley And Heldt Highlight Day One Of Oregon Relays

EUGENE, Ore. – Jenelle Hurley and Caitlin Heldt put together strong performances on Friday at the Oregon Relays hitting new personal-best marks in both of their events.

Hurley just moved past her PR in the long jump reaching a distance of 19-0 to come in third. Her new mark just went ahead of her previous high of 18-11.75 that Hurley just set at Bryan Clay last week. This improves her No. 4 WOU all-time mark in the event.

Heldt cruised past her previous PR time in the 1,500 crossing at 4:46.70 to place 11th. Heldt's previous best time in the event was 4:49.05 set last year during the WOU Pop Up Meet.

Maya Hopwood and Maliyah Thompson both competed in the 100 with Hopwood coming in seventh with a time of 12.33 and Thompson coming in right behind in eighth with a time of 12.42.

Madeline Lambing and Rilee Carstensen posted top-five finishes in the 400 hurdles with Lambing coming in fourth with a time of 1:07.27 and Carstensen coming in fifth with a time of 1:10.81 to place fifth.

Justin Crosswhite competed in the 1,500 coming in sixth with a time of 3:52.50.

WOU will continue the Oregon Relays tomorrow (Saturday) with the Wolves beginning to compete in events around 1 p.m.
