EUGENE, Ore. – The Western Oregon University men's and women's track and field teams sent a small group to Eugene on Friday to compete in the Oregon Twilight. Kaylee Wright led the way placing second in the javelin, with Maliyah Thompson coming in fifth in the 100 and Austin Goldstein fifth in the javelin.
Wright hit a mark of 147 to come in second in the javelin, landing her top distance on her second attempt.
Thompson crossed with a time of 12.27 to place fifth in the 100. Maya Hopwood also competed in the event for the Wolves coming in sixth with a time of 12.43.
Goldstein hit a distance of 193-4 to place fifth in the javelin. He landed his top mark on the day during his first attempt.
Bailey Smith came in 12th in the 3,000 steeple with a time of 9:36.01.
Rounding out the results for the Wolves was Justin Crosswhite in the 1,500 posting a time of 3:57.09 to place 24th.
WOU will continue a busy weekend sending student-athletes to both the Portland Twilight and the Linfield Open tomorrow (Saturday).
