PORTLAND, Ore. – Collecting a pair of top-five results in both the women's and men's standings, the Western Oregon University athletic department finished fifth overall in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Sports Awards for the 2021-22 season, presented by Barnes & Noble College.
WOU tallied 98 points to come in fifth overall. The women compiled 60 points to come in fifth, just behind Montana State Billings in fourth with 68 points. The men claimed a fifth-place finish with 38 points and were right behind Alaska Anchorage's 40 points in fourth.
The Wolves had a couple of top-three results by teams. WOU placed third in baseball with a 3.28 GPA and came in second in football with a 2.84 GPA. In the women's results, track and field placed third with a 3.45 GPA.
The Academic All-Sports standings are based on the cumulative grade point averages of all of the student-athletes on the official team rosters, including redshirts. Points are awarded in two-point increments.
