MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon football team was named as one of the top 10 teams in the Super Region 4 Rankings when it was released Monday.

The rankings weren't in any order for this first week, but will be from here to the end of the season. The top seven teams out of the four regions makes the Division II Football Championship.

The rankings are based only on Division-II opponents - so the Wolves are 5-1 according to the regional rankings after suffering their first loss of conference play Saturday against Texas A&M-Kingsville. Fellow Lone Star Conference schools Angelo State and Central Washington are in the rankings. Region 4 is made of the LSC, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

WOU looks to bounce back and stay in the regional rankings when it travels to take on Midwestern State this week.
