WOU men 12th, women 17th at NCAA Division II Cross Country West Regional

BILLINGS, Mont. --- The Western Oregon men's cross country team finished 12th and the women's team 17th at the NCAA Division II West Regional Championship on Saturday at Amend Park.

On the men's side, Jordan Kemper paced the Wolves by taking 37th - finishing the 10K race in 31:43.81. Logan Parker wasn't far behind in 41st place (31:46.67), Easton Pomrankey took 64th (32:24.86), Matthew Resnik took 71st (32:29.34) and Keeton Sanchez rounded out the scoring as he finished 79th (32:40.32).

Chico State took home the men's crown with 40 points - edging out Western Washington's 54 points. Sophomore Mario Giannini of Chico State took home the individual title with a time of 30:25.43 - winning by nearly five seconds.

On the women's side, Kyla Potratz paced WOU by finishing 55th with a time of 22:24.29 in the 6K race. Amelia Merritt was next in 88th (23:06.32) followed by Maslin Sigler (97th, 23:11.85), Kaydence Nguyen (101st, 23:15.61) and Olivia Flack (123rd, 23:41.64).

Chico state also won the women's title with 104 points, again edging Western Washington which finished with 115 points.
