WOLVES HEADING INTO THE RACE
The men and women will each be bringing 10 runners to the championship race.
Logan Parker is coming off two strong finishes for the men – a 24:51 at the Mike Johnson Classic 8K and an even 25-minute finish at the Lewis Crossover.
Kyla Potratz is also coming off two strong finishes on the women's side – finishing second on the team at the Lewis Crossover and a fourth-place race finish at the Mike Johnson Classic.
THE REST OF THE FIELD
The men's race will be a tightly contested one – with Western Washington ranked eighth in the nation and fifth in the west region alongside west-region top-10 Northwest Nazarene. On the women's side the race will be just as contests as nationally ranked No. 14 Alaska and No. 15 Western Washington will be racing alongside West Region ranked No. 8 Alaska Anchorage and No. 9 Simon Fraser.

Women place first, men second at home Mike Johnson Classic (Sept. 27)
The Wolves women took first place and the men took second at the Mike Johnson Classic on home Ash Creek Preserve course. WOU led the four-team women's field by all five runners placing top nine of scored runners in the 6K – led by sophomore
Kyla Potratz at a finishing time of 22:23.3.
The men took second, placing only behind NCAA West Region No. 9 Northwest Nazarene and having five runners take top-ten finishes for their 8K race. The Wolves were led by senior
Easton Pomrankey, who placed fourth at a time of 24:36.7.
Men start season strong at Ash Creek Collegiate (Sept. 13)
The Wolves runners took first place in the men's team rankings during the Ash Creek Collegiate on Sept. 13 in Monmouth, with five placing in the top ten.
Easton Pomrankey led the men for WOU, placing second in the 6K at 18:28.76. Fellow Wolves
Logan Parker,
Alden Roy,
Matthew Resnik and
Timothy Rambo all placed top ten.

WOU men 4th, women 6th in GNAC preseason poll
The Western Oregon men's and women's cross-country programs were picked in the same place they finished a year ago when the GNAC released the coaches poll.
