MONMOUTH, Ore. --- Western Oregon Athletics is proud to announce the incoming class of Men's and Women's Cross Country student-athletes, as released by Head Coach
Zach Holloway.
The Wolves begin their season at the Lewis & Clark Ice Breaker on Aug. 30 before opening their home race schedule on Friday, Sept. 12, hosting the Ash Creek Collegiate beginning with the men at 5 p.m. followed by the women at 5:45 p.m.

Men's Incoming Class
Shane Yara | Albuquerque, New Mexico | Cottonwood Prep High School
Yara is a 3x New Mexico State Champion and was the 2024 800 Meter 3A State Champion, running a 1:58.30. Yara was involved in Student Government and was a member of the National Honor Society at Cottonwood. Yara plans to study American Sign Language starting this Fall.
Samuel Fuentes | Clovis, New Mexico | Clovis High School
Fuentes is a multiple time state scorer on the track in New Mexico, most recently achieving a 5A 6th-overall finish in the 3,200 with a time of 9:37 for 5A. Fuentes will study Exercise Science beginning this fall.
Zander Campbell | Albany, Oregon | South Albany High School
Campbell has 4 State Cross Country qualifiers in Oregon State 5A, reaching a 5k PR of 15:03 at the Harrier Classic home meet for South Albany. Campbell has lifetime PRs of 8:44 for the 3k and 4:07 for the 1500. He plans to study either Criminal Justice or Exercise Science starting in the fall.
Raphael Blandini | Beaverton, Oregon | Mountainside High School | Southern Oregon University
A transfer from Southern Oregon University, Blandini brings a collegiate-best 800 time of 1:57 at the John Knight Twilight. At the high school level, Blandini holds a PR of 1:56.8 in the 800 and 50.5 in the 400.
Eliott Black | Portland, Oregon | McDaniel High School
Black is joining WOU after achieving a PR time of 1:56.6 in the 800, good for 6th in the PIL District 800 Final. Black is also an OSAA 6A State qualifier in the Men's 4x4. He plans to study Chemistry or Biology this Fall.
Benjamin Hernandez | Philomath, Oregon | Philomath High School
In 2023, Hernandez placed 2nd in the 4A 1500 with a 4:07 and 5th in the 3k with a 9:01, helping lead Philomath to a 2nd overall finish in 2023. Hernandez will begin at WOU under the Exploratory Pathway this fall.
Nikolas Tokarcyzk | Corvallis, Oregon | Crescent Valley High School
Tokarcyzk holds a lifetime PR of 1:59.25 in the 800 and 52.1 for the 400. He is a multi-time State Qualifier in the 4x4, capped by claiming the 2024 5A State title with a time of 3:21. Tokarcyzk will begin at WOU under the Exploratory Pathway this fall.
Devyn Thomas | Vancouver, Washington | Heritage High School
Thomas holds a lifetime PR of 1:59.60 in the 800 and a 4:33 in the 1600. Thomas is also a 4A State qualifier in cross country. He plans to study Psychology this fall.
Women's Incoming Class
Adele Beckstead | Philomath, Oregon | Philomath High School
Beckstead is a 7x State Scorer on the track, helping lead Philomath to securing three Team State Titles and two Team XC State Championships appearances. Beckstead holds a PR of 4:50 in the 1500 and 10:37 in the 3k. She plans to study Biology and Environmental Science starting this fall.
Maren Anderson | Littleton, Colorado | Columbine High School
Anderson holds the Columbine school record in the 3200 at 11:01 while placing 12th at the Colorado State Championship Meet in the 3200 with a time of 11:05. She holds a 35th place finish at the Colorado State meet, achieving a 5k PR of 18:09 at the NXR Southwest in November. Anderson was a multi-sport athlete, having lettered all 4 years as a Varsity starter in LaCrosse. She plans to study Environmental Science this Fall.
Yulissa Chavez-Cortez | Mt. Angel, Oregon | Kennedy High School
Chavez-Cortez is a multi-time 2A State Scorer on the track, holding a PR of 11:26 in the 3k and 19:42 in the 5k. Chavez-Cortez plans to study Exercise Science beginning this Fall.
Nettle Grey | Grants Pass, Oregon | Grants Pass High School
Grey is a 3x State Cross Country Qualifier, finishing 24th overall in 6A in 2024. She holds a PR of 18:21 in the 5k and a 4:42 in the 1500, recently set at the OSAA 5A State meet. Grey plans to study Chemistry or Exercise Science starting in the fall.
Isabelle Pruss | Hillsboro, Oregon | Glencoe High School
A 3x State cross country qualifier, Pruss holds PRs of 19:16 in the 5k, 10:54 in the 3k PR and 5:08 in the 1500. Pruss plans to study Public Health begin this Fall with the goal of later earning a degree in Nursing.
Aubrey Culligan | Beaverton, Oregon | Beaverton High School
Culligan holds PRs of 10:40 in the 3k, 5:03 in the 1500 and 18:30 in the 5k. She placed 44th at the 6A Oregon State Cross Country Meet after placing top-10 within the Metro League. Culligan plans to study Exercise Science beginning this Fall.
