SPOKANE, Wash. --- The Western Oregon track & field teams saw individual titles won and school records broken with the men taking second and the women finishing fourth on the second and final day of the GNAC Indoor Championships on Tuesday at The Podium.

The WOU men's team finished with 132.33 points (one of two teams to finish with 100-plus points) – finishing only behind Western Washington.
Â
The Wolves men won a pair of individual titles on Tuesday.
Keeton Sanchez took home the 800-meter gold with a time of 1 minute, 54.90 seconds – closely followed by teammate
Isaiah Rodriguez in second (1:55.25).

The other title came in the high jump with
Gabe Burchfield setting a personal best at 6 feet, 6.75 inches (2.00 meters) to claim the title. It's also tied for the eighth-best mark in WOU indoor history. Teammate
Justin Conklin tied with two others for second place (6-04.75, 1.95 meters).

Conklin took home another second while tying the 60 hurdles record for the second day in a row at 8.25.

The Wolves had a trio of other athletes take home silver in
Amari Hendrix in the 400 (a PR of 48.63 – fourth on the all-time WOU list),
Mark Warren in the shot put (PR of 48-10.75, 13.90 meters) and
Marley Harrison in the triple jump (PR of 46-04, 14.12 meters – fifth on the WOU all-time list).

On the women's side, the Wolves had 74 points to take fourth – finishing behind Western Washington (143), Central Washington (138) and Simon Fraser (96).

Highlighting the day for the women's team was
Maliyah Thompson who smashed the previous WOU all-time 60 hurdles record by 0.2 seconds – finishing with a time of 8.64 seconds.

Also taking the medal stand for the WOU women was
Ujunwa Nwokoma as she followed up her championship performance Monday in the long jump by taking third in the triple jump with a distance of 37-11.5 (11.57 meters) – good for fifth on the all-time WOU list.

While not medaling, the WOU women's 4x400 relay team of
Madeline Lambing,
Amelia Merritt,
Bethanie Altamirano and
Jessy Hart ran the sixth-fastest time in WOU history at 3:55.16 – good for sixth place on Tuesday.
