Mark Warren had quite the week as after coming off a GNAC indoor title in the weight throw, he earned GNAC Field Athlete of the Week honors for his performance at the Ken Shannon Last Chance event in Seattle this past weekend.
The senior in the weight throw had a mark of 17.42 meters (57 feet, 2 inches) - good for seventh place - and first among non Division-I athletes.
While the conference awards this week didn't count performances the GNAC Indoor Championships from last Monday and Tuesday, Warren won the weight throw conference title with a mark of 18.02 meters - fifth on the WOU all-time list.
The Wolves outdoor season gets underway this week at the Erik Anderson Memorial Ice Breaker hosted by Linfield in McMinnville as well as at the Willamette Opener in Salem.
