CORVALLIS, Ore. --- The Western Oregon track and field teams saw three WOU all-time marks reached or improved during the Oregon State High Performance on Friday and Saturday.
For the first time in eight years, a WOU athlete has ran a top-10 mark in the 200 in school history as
Alex Driesner ran a 21.77. The last person to reach a WOU top-10 in the events was Cody Warner in 2016 when he ran a 21.15 - second all-time (Mike Hinshaw owns the record at 21.11 set in 2002).
Freshman
Isaiah Rodriguez improved his own WOU top-10 team in the 800 at 1:50.48 to take third at the event - improving his sixth-place WOU all-time mark by .05 seconds.
On the women's side,
Katie Chapman set a personal best in the 3,000 steeplechase by more than six seconds with a time of 11:35.33. It moves her from seventh to sixth on the WOU all-time list.
Madeline Lambing just missed improving her No. 4 time in WOU history in the 400 hurdles by running a 1:03.17 (.07 seconds off her personal best).
The Wolves' decathlon and heptahtlon athletes get set for the GNACÂ Multi Championships taking place Monday and Tuesday in Bellingham, Washington. The rest of the teams compete the following week in a final tune-up for GNACs at the Oregon Twilight (Friday), the Portland Twilight (Saturday) and the Linfield Open (Saturday). The GNAC Championships tkae place May 10-11 in Ellensburg, Washington.
