MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The 1997 Western Oregon football team and 16 individuals will enter the Western Oregon Football Hall of Fame on Saturday at McArthur Field during halftime of the Wolves' game against West Texas A&M that starts at 1:05 p.m.
The 1997 team went 7-3 overall and won the Columbia Football Association conference title, made the NAIA National Playoffs and were ranked as high as No. 12 in the nation. The team was coached by CFA Coach of the Year Blaine Bennett.
Twelve players off that team will be inducted individually into the Hall of Fame as well: Chris Doran (WR), Corey Sutton (DB), Erik Davis (QB), Steve Ott (DB), Jacob Espiau (DB), Jason Taroli (RB), Cam McFarland (DE), Brian Lulay (OL), Eric Cummings (OL), Brian Crawford (OL), Chris Bentley (P) and Tim Martin (DE).
The other four individuals being honored are: Brian Greene (DB, 1990-93), Dave Kangas (OL, 1993-94), Jeramy Williams (LB, 1992-95) and Cam Frickey (WR, 1992-96).
