BILLINGS, Mont. --- Western Oreogn's
Kyla Potratz earned all-conference honors while taking fourth at the Cross Country GNAC Championships on Saturday morning - helping the WOU women take seventh while the men finished fourth.
Potratz, a junior, finished the 6K course in 21 minutes, 32.7 seconds to earn the honors - finishing behind a trio of seniors in Maya Ewing (Seattle Pacific, 21:04.7), Alexis Parker (Western Washington, 21:26.5) and Rachael Watkins (Simon Fraser, 21:28.3).
The Wolves' other scorers on the day were
Adele Beckstead (30th, 22:21.1),
Jazmine Liebl (36th, 22:38.4),
Maslin Sigler (40th, 22:48.4) and
Nettle Grey (48th, 23:21.3).
Western Washington won the team women's title with 37 points followed by Seattle Pacific (92) and Alaska Anchorage (105).
On the men's side,
Remedan Seman led the Wolves with an 11th-place finish with a time of 24:46.6 in the 8K race as WOU had three top-20 finishers.
Ethan Bothwell took 19th (25:00.8) while
Matthew Resnik finished 20th (25:04.3). Also scoring points for WOU was
Zander Campbell (27th, 25:32.2) and
Samuel Fuentes (40th, 25:51.5).
WWU won the team title with 37 points followed by UAA (58) and Northwest Nazarene (65). John Peckham from UAA won the individual title at 24:04.5.
Up next for the Wolves is the NCAA West Regional - which will be in Monmouth on Nov. 8.
