MONMOUTH, Ore. --- Former Western Oregon football and basketball broadcaster and Wolves alum Mark Gilman passed away Monday at 65 years old.

Gilman called WOU football games with his father, Jerry (who played football at WOU in the 1950s), from 2010-17, along with calling basketball games during that same period. He graduated in 1991 from Western Oregon and went on to have a successful 30-plus year career working in broadcasting and teaching in the Salem area - calling football, basketball and baseball games for high school teams.

Gilman also received his master's degree from WOU in 1997, and was part of the calls for WOU women's basketball 1993 NAIA national tournament appearance and footall's NAIA football playoff game in 1997 against Willamette.
