WOU's Villalobos named to U.S. Men's Cerebral Palsy National Team training camp roster

MONMOUTH, Ore. --- Western Oregon's Abraham Villalobos was selected for a spot on the U.S. Men's Cerebral Palsy National Team training camp roster and he'll begin training Wednesday through Sunday in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

Villalobos is one of 19 members on the roster and one of two first-time players.

The U.S. Men's CP National Team is for eligible qualifying players with Cerebral Palsy, stroke or traumatic brain injury. Villalobos suffered a severe arteriovenous malformation stroke in March of 2025 where he eventually was life flighted to Oregon Health and Science University Hospital.

Amazingly after two weeks in the hospital and four months of intense therapy to relearn how to walk, regain his balance and get back into shape - Villalobos rejoined the WOU men's soccer program.

Villalobos - one of three players from the inaugural 2022 team that played all four seasons - again played a key role in helping the Wolves win their second consecutive GNAC title and return to the NCAA tournament. He scored three goals and added an assist.

The Salem, Oregon, native finished his career with 64 games played with 13 goals and five assists in nearly 3,000 minutes of action.
