MONMOUTH, Ore. --- Western Oregon University Athletics has named Andrew May as the Wolves' interim head coach for the men's soccer program.

"We are excited to welcome Andrew May to WOU as our interim head men's soccer coach," WOU Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Randi Lydum said. "Coach May brings a tremendous range of experience to our program and we are thrilled he was able to join us this summer."

May comes to WOU from Willamette University where he's served as the assistant women's coach since 2025. Prior to that, he was the head coach for the Los Angeles Football Club Academy U18 team from 2024-25.

"I am incredibly honored and excited to be named the next head men's soccer coach at Western Oregon University," May said. "I want to thank Randi Lydum and the administration for this tremendous opportunity. Coach Behonick and his staff have done a remarkable job building a proud tradition and a strong foundation. I can't wait to get to work, continuing to build a competitive culture rooted in hard work and discipline, and help our student-athletes reach their highest potential in the classroom and on the field."

May also has coaching experience at Real Salt Lake (2021-24), Real Salt Lake - AZ (2020-21), Los Angeles Galaxy (2016-19), Strikers FC (2015-16), Chivas USA (2012-15), Vanguard University (2006-09, 2010-13) and Concordia University (2009-10). Much of his time professional was with the academies where he developed numerous players to the MLS.
