FOREST GROVE, Ore. -
Carson O'Brien and
Will Crook both earned NCAA provisional marks to highlight the Western Oregon University track & field team's performances at the Pacific Twilight, Saturday, May 1.
O'Brien ran a career-best time of 1:52.57 in the 800m to grab his provisional standard and move into second place on the 2010 GNAC performance list. That mark won him the event and placed him second in school history.
Crook recorded a throw of 202-0 (61.57m) in the javelin to earn his provisional mark. This was just the second provisional standard in the event within the GNAC this season, as he ascended to fifth place on the Wolves' all-time top 10 list.
Kaitlyn Reid ran a 14.72 in the women's 100m hurdles to move into a tie for seventh place in the history of the GNAC. Her time also tied her for fourth place in school history. Reid also won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.60.
Anthony Yakovich placed second in the men's 200m dash with a time of 21.95. His time moved him into seventh in GNAC history and ninth on the Wolves all-time top 10 list.
Jason Slowey set the Pacific Twilight meet record in the shot put with a toss of 51-9 (15.77m) to win the event.
Ashley Potter also grabbed a meet record with a leap of 38-5.5 (11.72m) to win the event.
Erika Snawder won the 1500m at the meet, as she ran a season-best time of 4:41.08. That mark also placed her seventh in school history.
The women's 4x100m relay team of
Stefani Dittmar,
Sarah Kathrein,
McKenzie Redberg, and
Lacey Meusec, matched the Wolves' season-best time of 48.35 to win the event.
Carolanne Powers won the javelin toss by over eight feet at the Pacific Twilight with a throw of 139-7 (42.55m).
