MONMOUTH, Ore. - Ryan Hansen ran the second fastest time in the history of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in the 800m with a time of 1:51.55 and for that he was rewarded with the GNAC Male Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 20-26.

The sophomore from Dallas, Ore., not only moved up the GNAC performance list with his NCAA provisional qualifying time, he moved into 11th in Division II this season. That time also places him second in Western Oregon history.

Hansen's time looks to have secured him a berth into National Championship meet in Mankato, Minn., on Mar. 9-10. The field will be officially announced later in the week.
