The Western Oregon University track & field team completed one of the most memorable and remarkable indoor seasons in school history. Here is a look back at some of those top performances:
•
Ashley Potter earns All-American honors by placing second in the triple jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a mark of 40-8.25 (12.40m).
• Western Oregon men's track & field team wins its fifth straight GNAC Indoor Championship.
• The women's team places third, to record their best finish at the GNAC Indoors since 2007.
• Potter was named the GNAC Female Athlete of the Year.
• Wolves' male student-athletes win three events and placed in the top three in 13 different events at the GNAC Championships.
• The Western Oregon women claimed three first place finishes and nine top three finishes at GNACs.
• Eight male student-athletes and nine women earned their way onto the GNAC all-time top 10 list.
• 19 members of the team earned USTFCCCA all-region honors. To be eligible for an all-region honor a student-athlete must finish in the top five from each region in individual events or is a member of a relay ranked in the region's top three.
•
Ryan Hansen qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the men's 800m with a provisional qualifying time of 1:51.55. That time places him second in both school and GNAC history.
•
Janelle Everetts ran in the women's 800m at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Everetts ran a season-best time of 2:11.78 at the Seattle Pacific Last Chance Meet.
• Western Oregon student-athletes claimed one NCAA automatic qualifying standard and nine provisional qualifying marks.
• Seven Wolves finished atop the 2012 GNAC Performance List.
• Potter claimed the top spot on the Great Northwest Athletic Conference all-time top 10 list with her leap at Nationals. Her mark of 40-8.25 was 8.75 inches better than the previous school record as she became the only GNAC female student-athlete to ever eclipse 40 feet.

Madison McClung claimed two different school records while at the GNAC Indoor Championships. She posted a time of 7.81 in the 60m dash and a time of 25.16 in the 200m. Her time in the 60m claimed her the fourth-best mark in conference history, and her time in the 200m moved her to second in GNAC history.
•
Janna Vander Meulen set the school record in the women's 60m hurdles by running a time of 9:06 at the GNAC Championships.
•
Katie Pelchar moved to the top of the school records when she cleared 5-7.25 (1.71) to win the high jump event.
• In addition to setting the Western Oregon school record in the triple jump,
Ashley Potter also moved to the top long jump performance list with a mark of 18-2.5 (5.55m), and briefly held Western Oregon's 60m hurdles record after recording a time of 9.08 in the qualifying portion of the GNAC Championships.
• It took
Charlene Harber just one season to jump to the top of the Wolves' all-time top 10 list in the Pentathlon as she posted 3,372 points over the five events.
• The 4x400m relay team of
Audrey Hellesto,
Janelle Everetts,
Meryl Butcher and
Lexi Pola ran a school record time of 3:57.97 to take second at the GNAC Championships.
•
Jake Hyde set a new standard for future Western Oregon student-athletes in the Heptathlon with 4,213 points.
•
Matson Hardie won the men's triple jump at the GNAC Championships with a leap of 47-3.75 (14.42m).
•
Brett Campbell won the 60m hurdles at the GNAC Championships with the second-fastest time in school history (8.37).
• The men were ranked in all eight weekly regional polls. They reached as high as No. 2 in the West.
• The women rose as high as No. 6 in the West Region poll.
