MONMOUTH, Ore. - Amanda Schumaker of the Western Oregon track & field team has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Female Athlete of the Week for the week of Mar. 12-18.

Schumaker, a junior from Gladstone, Ore. (Gladstone HS), automatically qualified for the NCAA Division II national meet in the javelin with a winning throw of 151-6 at the Oregon Preview in Eugene Sunday. Schumaker's throw ranks eighth in GNAC history and third in Western Oregon history.

Members of the Western Oregon track & field team will compete this weekend at the Lewis & Clark Invite beginning on Friday, Mar. 23.
