PUEBLO, Colo. -
Amanda Schumaker captured the third All-American honor of her career by placing third in the women's javelin at the NCAA Track & Field Championships.
Shumaker hit a throw of 158-5 (48.28m) on her final attempt of the afternoon to vault herself to the best finish of her career. That throw was just six inches from her season-best mark and earned her the tie breaker to move pass the thrower of Central Missouri into third place.
The junior from Gladstone, Ore. (Gladstone HS) has now taken sixth, eighth and third at Nationals, in that order.
Seabre Church placed 12th in her first trip to Nationals with a throw of 136-1 (41.48m).
